When are movies released on DVD?
There is no set schedule of when a movie that has been in theatrical distribution is released on DVD. There are many factors - such as popularity of the film, expected demand, and seasonality. Even the timing of major awards like the Academy Awards, will influence when a studio will want to release a title on DVD.
The movie studios also have many older, classic films to release on DVD.
