DVD Movie Clubs

There are two basic DVD Movie Club formats: programs for DVD purchase and programs for DVD rental.

DVD Purchase:

The major DVD Movie Club that is designed for members to purchase DVDs to own is run by Columbia House. It it similar to their program for CD music, where you are able to purchase several titles at the time of signup for a very low cost. Then over a period of time, you agree to purchase a specific number of additional titles at the regular price. For example, if you go to www.columbiahouse.com, you can pick 5 DVDs for only $0.49 each, with free shipping. And then you purchase 5 more movies in the next 2 years at regular Club prices. DVD Rental:

There are several DVD Rental Clubs available, with the original Netflix being one of the largest and best established. Blockbuster has a good program, Wal-Mart has an Unlimited DVD Rental program, and DVD Barn has a similar program as well.

These programs are all very similar, with a huge selection of titles available, and each provides the ability for the member to manage their list of titles on-line. The DVDs are shipped and returned in well-designed mailers that make the process very easy. And the best selling feature is that there are no late fees, meaning you can keep each DVD as long as you want.
