Geroge Clooney
Geroge Clooney Biography:
When George Clooney finally hit it big as pediatrician Doug Ross in the blockbuster television series "ER," critics hailed him a breakout star. But he was scarcely an ingenue; by then, he had starred in countless TV series (including "Roseanne" and "Sisters") and B movies.
Clooney gained a reputation as a talented actor years after he moved to Hollywood from Kentucky, where he was born on May 6, 1961. In a way, he was destined for stardom, considering his lineage: His dad, Nick Clooney, was a talk show host; his mom, Nina, was a former beauty queen; and his aunt, jazz singer Rosemary Clooney, was a bona fide celebrity.
But it was ER that gave him his due, and he quickly became a sought-after leading man, starring in movies such as Out of Sight (1998), The Perfect Storm (2000), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) -- for which he won a Golden Globe Award -- and Ocean's Eleven (2001).
