Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnold Schwarzenegger Biography:
Born in a small Austrian village on July 30, 1947, Arnold Schwarzenegger spent most of his teen years bodybuilding. Not long after arriving in America at age 21, he won the Mr. Olympia title seven times between 1970 to 1980.
Most Americans got their first glimpse of this soon-to-be action star in the bodybuilding documentary Pumping Iron (1976). Although his thick accent and limited acting experience hindered him in his early-1980s acting roles in Conan the Barbarian and The Terminator, a string of successful action films -- including Commando, Predator, Total Recall and True Lies -- made him one of the most popular movie stars in the world.
Schwarzenegger also saw success with his comedic work in Twins and Kindergarten Cop. He's married to broadcaster Maria Shriver, has devoted much time to health and fitness causes for children and was sworn in as the Governor of California in late 2003.
